i'd trade if i could. i make $9 an hour to baby sit recovering drug addicts/alcoholics overnight. basically my job is this:
11:30pm dump out their coffee(which is decaf), lock their laundry rooms, phone rooms, exercise rooms and turn off their tvs in the lounges so they'll go to bed.
12am do a head count to make sure everyone is there and no one has absconded (have you ever heard that word? it means to flee the law quickly or something similar. they can't just say "jumped the fence". not at PCN)
1-2am do filing and sit on my ass and read/draw/sneak out my DS/have a quick nap.
3am another head check.
5am put the coffee on.
6am-8:30am run atound in circles doing a lot of stuff because they always always always schedule me to work alone.
sometimes i really like my job (10 hour shifts mean it goes by fast, i make more per shift, i only work 4 days instead of 5, and mostly the residents are nice and like me and call me ridiculous names like "doll" and "mah dear") and sometimes it sucks a lot of ass (bitchy women, creepy younger guys on the east unit that undress you with their eyes, morning shift not showing up which leaves me there until usually 9am, and the pay is shit).
but it beats serving ice cream to fat people who beat their kids or having to express a dog's anal glands for no tip money.

My first day is on Tuesday. Guess what I "have" to do.
Yeah. I "have" to watch an IMAX movie, a planetarium thing, and goof around in the science center.
And I get paid for it.

I'm just getting minimum wage. (8.50) works for me.
